Green Level huddling for their upcoming match.

On Monday, October 21, the Varsity Men’s Soccer team played Green Hope. It was the 1st match played between these two teams at Gator Stadium. The Gators fought hard against Green Hope but lost 5-1.

Green Hope came out quick to score 3 goals in the 1st half including 2 quick goals in a span of 2 minutes, but the Gators came right back to score a goal from Josiah Pasteris. Green Hope came out ready in the 2nd half and scored 2 goals and blanked the Gators. The final score was 5-1. The Gators will work hard to close out the season and will look for some wins. We caught up with Ibrahim (Bibo) Dessouky to ask him some questions after the game.

GE: How will this loss motivate the team in the upcoming games?

BD: Green Hope is a solid team, a few tough players in the back–they’re big, they’re fast, but we should have them next year.

GE: Do you think you’ll get them next year and why?

BD: They are losing all of their seniors next year so we should have them next year.

The Gators will look to rebound after the tough loss on Monday and will play on Wednesday, October 23, against Cary at Gator Stadium. They will look to improve their current record of 7-12 overall and their 2-9 conference record. Come out and support your Gators!
