Cars are a daily mode of transportation for many people, whether it be a Honda Civic or something as high as a Bugatti. On average, people spend around $36,718 on a car, according to CNBC. But if people want to buy a Ferrari or Lamborghini, they do so because they are passionate about the car’s speeds and quality or they want to show their opulence.
There are probably not many Green Level students or parents who own such luxury cars–they might be more often seen in places like New York or California. However, this does not mean that you can not own luxury cars in Cary. Just last week, I saw a black Lamborghini Huracan drive by Green Level HS. Ferraris have been seen around too.
Volkswagen makes Lamborghini through its subsidiary Audi, founded in May 1963, in Sant’Agata Bolognese, Italy. On the other hand, Ferrari was founded by Enzo Ferrari in 1939 out of Alfa Romeo’s race division as Auto Avio Costruzioni in Maranello, Italy. Most of Ferrari’s colors are red or yellow, but Lamborghini’s are orange, yellow and sometimes white.
Other than the fact that both are Italian cars, what do these cars have in common and what is their difference?
Let’s Find Out.
2018 Lamborghini Huracan:
Horsepower: 580 HP
Curb Weight: 3,062 lbs
0-60 mph: 3.2 seconds
Quarter mile: 11.2 seconds
2018 Ferrari 488 GTB:
Horsepower: 661 HP
Curb Weight: 3252 lbs
0-60 mph: 2.9 seconds
Quarter mile: 10.5 seconds
If you want a decent supercar with design/ reliability and luxury, then you can go with the Lamborghini. But as you can see, the Ferrari 488 GTB is a better choice compared to Lamborghini Huracan due to its upgraded features and smoothness. As many people say, is the “James Bond Experience.”
We have given the facts; let’s ask GLHS for their opinion.
Ms.Powell, Media Center Specialist: “I’d pick Ferrari. But if the Lamborghini is cheaper, it would be money-saving but still a fun ride.”
Chris Barber: “Ferrari. The car is really fast, and I would choose the car even If I had the money to buy a Lamborghini.”
Aaryan Raj: “Lamborghini. Even if the car was faster, it still has a more aggressive look, and I would personally enjoy it.”
Maddy Mansfield and Riley McElreath: “Ferrari is a car that we would probably enjoy the most, even if it were the most expensive because it has the luxury and is faster.”
In GLHS, many students prefer the Ferrari because it is faster and looks cool. But in our opinion, it’s smarter to go with the Lamborghini. It is a little cheaper, it looks cool and aggressive, and though not as quick as the Ferrari, it is still fast. No matter the disadvantages, the Lamborghini is still a supercar–just one available as a cheaper, reliable and cooler option.
