Hey Gators! I’m sure that most of you are bored at home, so we decided to hand out some recipes for you to try. For starters, we will try and do recipes that require minimal ingredients so you won’t have to go to the store to find some one-time-use recipe. Today, we will be making cookies! Traditional chocolate chip cookies seem like a good start to our long journey of fun recipes.
The ingredients you will need are:
1 cup butter, softened
1 cup white sugar
1 cup packed brown sugar
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
1 teaspoon baking soda
2 teaspoons hot water
½ teaspoon salt
3 cups all-purpose flour
2 cups semisweet chocolate chips
The instructions are:
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
Cream together the butter, white sugar, and brown sugar until smooth. Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla. Dissolve baking soda in hot water. Add to batter along with salt. Stir in flour, and chocolate chips. Drop by large spoonfuls onto ungreased pans.
Bake for about 10 minutes in the preheated oven, or until edges are nicely browned.
And that’s it Gators! The best recipe for these cookies! We hope you have a fun time making them and will continue to follow our Quarantine Kitchen. More to come!
