Our volleyball team continues to break barriers and set records. The Gators went 3-0 versus Broughton Tuesday night, adding another game to their win streak.
The Gators have been consistently performing well. Last year, they were the first varsity team to make the playoffs with a record of 9-3. That team had no seniors and were going against teams with full senior starting rosters, and with this year now having seniors, we are continuing to dominate the competition.
On Tuesday, the Gators came out swinging, never allowing Broughton to get more than 13 points in a set. It was a quick game, ending in 3 sets. Some primary players for the volleyball team include Senior Captains, Ava Toppin and Halle Gibson, as well as Seniors, Lizzie Boggess, Nicole Deoliveira, Khushi Shah, and Morgan Downs. These student-athletes continue to pave the path for our future volleyball program here at Green Level. As they improved their record to 5-0, they currently hold the record for the longest Varsity win streak in school history yet so far.
Wednesday, they traveled to Fuquay-Varina, winning in 3 straight sets once again. Our gators have now improved their record to 6-0. Senior Captain, Halle Gibson, reached her 500th career assist against the Bengals on Wednesday night.
“I didn’t know the exact moment but after the game I was stoked…”, Gibson said.
Thursday, our Gators were on the road again but this time to Cary High. They defeated the Imps in just 3 sets, improving their record to 7-0. It was a great start to conference-game play.
On Tuesday 9/7, they will host versus Middle Creek at 6pm.
On Thursday 9/16, our gators will travel to Apex at 6pm to face off versus the Cougars.
