Morgan Downs is a Senior who recently moved here from High Point, NC. It is her first year attending Green Level, and she has already made a huge impact playing on our school’s volleyball team. Downs has committed to play Division 1 Beach Volleyball at USC. USC is located in Columbia, South Carolina.
“USC feels like a family and I absolutely love it there…”, Downs states.
She tells us about her experience with the process of recruiting and how she feels now that it is over…
“My recruitment process was very stressful and I was a year late in the entire process. I sent hundreds of emails to schools and worked on film and highlight videos for hours on end… It is very rewarding to finally be committed and have that stress off my chest. While other seniors are worrying about if they will get into their college I already have my college in mind. Being committed has also given me more confidence in my play.”
Downs continues to elaborate on how she will prepare to play beach volleyball at the D1 collegiate level, “I need to get in the gym and back in the sand to prepare for next year… I am so excited for the next 4!!”
With her experience of the recruitment process, the advice she gives for student-athletes is… “know that you will end up where you belong and all of the hard work will be worth it in the end.”
We wish Morgan the best as she prepares to head to USC!
“USC was my dream school before I even started playing volleyball so it is a dream come true that I am going there.” – Morgan Downs
