Last night, the women’s soccer team had their first ever senior night against Green Hope.

The night started off with a Maris Toppin kissing one of the post and in the goal one minute into the game. Senior, Zoe Willis, then followed up Maris with a goal at the 10 minute mark with an amazing free kick goal on her senior night which was something special considering that she plays center back. We asked Zoe about her goal on senior night. She responded, “It was just a free kick and I kicked it into the goal” Presley also scored before the end of the half.

The team was up 3-0 at the half and proceeded to dominate the second half as well with goals from Dak and Ava.

Emery Garver (Jr) was player of the game. We asked her how she felt about this recognition. She said, “I feel like our game went exactly how we wanted it to, the energy was great and we shut them away early with a goal in the first minute. It felt amazing getting a 5-0 win to honor our seniors on senior night.” She went onto say that she “was honestly shocked” about being named MVP of the game. “It was a great feeling knowing that all the work I have been putting into this season was worth it and everyone on the team contributed to our big win.”

The final result has a 5-0 win. This was the gators 9th shutout of the season. They are 8-2-3 in conference and have an opportunity to take control of the conference this Wednesday against Apex Friendship.
