Senior Night Baseball
May 4, 2022
The Green Level Baseball team just wrapped up their senior night game against the Apex Friendship Patriots. This game was about celebrating the 7 seniors graduating this year and all they have done for the team and the program.
The battle against the Patriots was very hard-fought from both sides, with the game going into extra innings. The game was close with Apex Friendship in the lead all the way up until the bottom of the 7th inning, with The Gators down by 3. Somehow, The Gators managed to make their way back to tie it up, scoring 3 runs with 2 outs to force extra innings. Unfortunately, the patriots managed to secure the win with a final score of 8-6, a close one.
I interviewed a couple of the Seniors on the baseball team, Jackson Rukamp and Bryce Freidlander about their high school career and their thoughts about the game.
How do you feel you’ve performed in your 3 years as an athlete at Green Level?
Bryce- I’d say I’ve performed pretty well, most importantly as a team player.
Jackson- I think I’ve done pretty well, it definitely helps to be a good teammate.
What will you miss the most about high school baseball?
Bryce- I’ll miss the group of guys we have the most for sure, we’ve had a lot of fun the past three years.
Jackson- Definitely joking around in the dugout with my teammates and the energy on bus rides.
How do you feel the first senior night in school history went?
Bryce- Besides not winning, it went pretty well, it lasted 9 innings, we showed some fight and the underclassmen showed how much they care about us, seniors.
Jackson- I thought it was really good, and it kind of made my whole baseball career here at Green Level feel like it was worth a lot.
Congratulations to our baseball seniors and best of luck to them past Green Level.
