New Head Coach for Green Level Golf Off to a Hot Start

Green Level Women’s Golf started the season off on fire with winning every one of their matches and starting 3-0.

Leading the team, Maddy Linares has proven she is the number one on a stacked team with many talented golfers around her. Seeing the success she and the team has had, I went to go ask her about the new coach. “I really like Mr. Rogers and he is very organized. He is also very fun and competitive on the course and pushes us to win our conference, and he is a great addition to the team”. After hearing this from Maddy, I went to go ask a member of the Men’s Golf team, Peter Pucci, his first thoughts on talking to new Head Coach Mr. Rogers and he said, “He seems like he knows how to run a team, due to the hot start from the girls team”.

I love being out there with the team they bring a lot of energy and a lot of work and I can’t say i’m surprised on how well we are doing just because of how hard the girls work.

New Head Coach Mr. Rogers had a lot to say about the team this year and their goals, “I came into the year with the idea that we had a strong team, and to be honest with you I didn’t know how strong we were till the first match, 3 and sometimes 4 of our girls were shooting in 30s and that’s  amazing. The growth that I have seen in the first three matches has has been awesome to see as a coach and I know how hard the girls work and we have plenty of matches to go and we have definitely have had a strong start. I love being out there with the team they bring a lot of energy and a lot of work and I can’t say i’m surprised on how well we are doing just because of how hard the girls work”.

After hearing about Coach Roger’s thoughts on the hot start to the season, I asked him what his goals are for the team this season. “For me as a coach, is for the girls to get better, but as a team, it is to win at conference this year, which as of now we are in a great position to do so we just need to keep up to do so and I honestly thing we can make a run at states.”
