The Women’s Golf team has gotten off to a fantastic start this year by winning their first 3 matches of the season, dominantly as well. In the first match at MacGregor Downs the girls won by 8, in the second match at Devil’s Ridge they won by 7 and then this past match at RGA the girls won by 7 strokes. The girls have also had 2 medalist scores, meaning that in 2 of their matches a player on Green Level had the lowest score out of everyone. Last week the medalist was SO. Lauren Eggers with a very impressive 32 at RGA and the week before it was SR. Maddy Linares with an also impressive 33 at Devils Ridge.

I  talked with Lauren about the team and its hot start, and she had a very positive outlook on the season so far:

Q: What do you believe has helped you guys get off to this great start this season?

A: “I feel the chemistry of the whole team has been really good and everyone has been working really hard to help the team to success.”

Q: What are the team’s goals for the rest of the season?

A: “We are trying to win the conference as a team and trying to make it all the way to states as a team as well.”

The Lady Gators have their home match at the Preserve at Jordan Lake Tuesday, September 13 at 3:30 and are hoping to dominate another Conference Match. Good luck girls!
