Our Cross Country team participated in the first 5K of the season this past Friday night, September 9th. 

Alex Fernandez and Kaylie Dziedznia were the first Gators to finish each respective event, with the girl’s team finishing 11th in the Girls Championship and the boys finishing 15th in the Boys Championship, as well as the school finishing first in conference. 

Finishing 43rd out of 290 runners, Kaylie Dziendznia finished with a time of 19:48.40 and helped the Gators secure their spot in the top ⅓ for the girl’s varsity team. “It honestly felt like a dream, especially towards the last half mile. No matter who you were in front of or behind, at that point in the race there was a huge crowd cheering you on at every corner.”

The next meet is in 2 weeks on Sept. 21, 2022 at WakeMed Soccer Park. Come cheer on your Gators for the next meet of the season!
