Thursday night, The Gators faced off against The Green Hope Falcons. Both teams were tied for #1 in the SWAC, making this game sure to be an exciting one.

Set 1 was a close one, hard fought from both sides. Luckily The Gators managed to pull away at the very end of the set, winning the first set 25-20. In the second set, The Falcons were looking for redemption and they came out firing, reversing the momentum and winning the set 25-20. Now with the sets tied 1-1, it was anyone´s game, and both teams were playing to win. The third set went back and forth down to the wire, The Gators just falling short with a set score of 26-24 in The Falcon´s favor. The Falcons carried their momentum from winning two sets in a row into the fourth and final set, winning it 25-19. This was a tough loss for The Gators but it may not have been the last time we see these two teams face off. I interviewed Pravani Bollineni and asked her a couple of questions about the game.

How do you feel the game went?

I thought it was a really bad display of what we can do especially since Green hope lost in 5 to gibbons while we swept them. We didn´t adjust at all, we put pressure on them to start and then didn´t react when they changed.

What can you improve on from this game?

Definitely lock in during practice, it feels like we´re just going through the motions, and coming into playoffs we can´t take a game for granted, we can´t afford to have off days anymore.

How do you feel going into the next game?

I would say just play with the same intensity as if it´s a state championship game, we have to work hard at practice today and over the weekend. We really need to get our minds right for Apex Friendship which is senior night as well. We have to win for our seeding for playoffs as well.

With the playoffs just around the corner, the pressure is on the defending 4A state champs to perform well. Good luck Gators!
