What Do You Rate the Food and Rides at the State Fair?

The NC State Fair is one of the  largest event in North Carolina and the home to many rides, food, animals, and entertainment for all! Here I will not only rate my experience at the fair but will provide a brief description of the activities I participated in at the NC State Fair!

Few State Fair Favorites: Food Edition

Granny’s Funnel Cake with powdered sugar: 9/10 Delicious! Keeping mine simple with powdered sugar, these funnel cakes were fluffy on the inside and crisp on the outside.

Paul’s Potato Palace chips: 10/10 These are not your regular chips, these are to perfection being extra crispy don’t forget to add their delicious seasoning as well.

Fluffy’s Donuts: 8/10 A mobile bakery serving donuts to fairgoers, the line may be long but it is worth the wait to get your hands on a delicious Fluffy’s Donut.

Fried Oreos with powdered sugar: 9/10 Hot and crunchy outside and a chocolate vanilla cream gooey inside topped off with some powdered sugar to make you go back for more.

Caramel apples plain and with peanuts: 8.5/10 Soft and chewy texture, each bite is sweet and sour with the perfectly tart apples combined with the sweet and creamy caramel, matched with a variety of toppings to choose from.

Douglas Farms’ roasted corn on a stick: 8.5/10 Perfecting the ratio of the roasted corn flavor to the variety of seasonings they provide to add to your corn makes it all the more delicious.

Farm Fresh Apple Cider: Cider and slushie 8/10 This booth in Heritage Circle offers fresh hot, cold & frozen food and drink with their main ingredient: apples

 

Few Fair Favorites: Rides & Activities Edition

Music Fest: 10/10 The chance to take a seat at The Heritage Circle Stage to listen to the local talent perform.

Hush-Puppy Tour: 7/10 Tour through the Grist Mill, greeted with a free hush puppy for walking through the mill to see first-hand how they make their delicious hush puppies.

Biggest pumpkin and watermelon for 2022: 7/10 The pumpkin weighed in at 1,461 pounds and the watermelon weighed in at 306 pounds, fairgoers are able to take pictures with these amazingly huge crops and all the while seeing many of the other competitors that have entered their crops as well!

Animals: 10/10 Animals such as chickens, turkeys, goats, horses, cows, rabbits, and sheep are on display for all to see. Activities with the animals range from seeing the sheep competitions to riding ponies, milking cows, and so much more!

The Octopus: 6.5/10 Eight arms each with a single spinning car at the end seating two riders, the arms move up and down, the cars spinning freely.

Starship 2000: 10/10 The Stranger Things experience, this alien spaceship-like gravity-defying ride rotates fast and forceful enough to push riders up and down the wall.

Agriculture Pavilion: 10/10 This is for those interested in learning more about the agricultural community, you learn about crops and animals with their many interactive activities.
