Men’s basketball played their first back-to-back on Friday and Saturday, facing Apex and Wake Forest. The Gators picked up big wins in both games extending their winning streak to 8 games and giving them an 8-0 record which is their best start in school history in men’s basketball.

On Friday the Gators played a back-and-forth game with the cougars. Tensions were high in the game that ended with a 6-point Green Level win with the Green Level defense not allowing any Apex player to score more than 15 points. On the tail end of the back-to-back, the gator’s defense clamped down again holding Wake Forest to only 34 points in the rout of the cougars. Wake Forest only achieved double digits in one quarter and had only 9 points at halftime. Gators are back in action on Tuesday against Riverside looking to make their win streak 9 games.

We got to speak with Junior Forward Trey Manhertz about Friday’s game and their win streak,

“We came into this game and we wanted to extend our winning streak. I’m happy with how the guys performed and how the game ended with a win. Although we wanted to win by more we are still happy with the win and are looking forward to our next game.”

Your gators are back in action twice before the break and have a Christmas tournament before we come back.
