December 21, 2022
No plans this break? Don’t worry!
Students of Green Level have helped craft a list of activities to do with friends, family, or by themselves!
1. NC Chinese Lantern Festival
The North Carolina Chinese Lantern Festival is making its seventh annual return to Cary’s Koka Booth Amphitheatre.
This festival consists of more than 40 new displays, containing thousands of LED lights and hundreds of pieces. Visitors will be enthralled by these lanterns’ larger-than-life size, incredible craftsmanship, and artistic splendor. Every evening, performances of cultural arts will be held on the main stage.
2. Ice Skating @Fenton
Are you down to ice skate on Cary’s brand-new rink? Fenton’s outdoor ice rink is a magical experience for everyone, surrounded by good food, boutiques, and holiday cheer. Pricing is $16.00 + tax, including rental skates! Be sure to head down before January 16th!
3. Build and Decorate Gingerbread Houses
If you are planning on staying inside over break be sure to pick up a gingerbread house kit from your local grocery store. Be creative and have fun while decorating and even competing with friends on who makes the best gingerbread house!
4. WRAL Nights of Lights
WRAL Nights of Lights at Dorothea Dix Park is back this Christmas season! For a third holiday season, WRAL-TV and the City of Raleigh are presenting the downtown Raleigh drive-thru holiday light show. Additional large-scale light displays, in-person activations like a rental of a personal igloo or a Christmas outpost experience, various bike-only nights, and a 5K Nights of Lights run/walk are new features this year.
