Men’s Golf Preparing for Another Great Season

Men’s team last year at Conference @glmensgolf

Although winter sports are still going strong, spring sports are starting to prepare for their seasons to begin. One of those sports is the men’s golf team.

Last year, the men’s golf team made school history by being the first golf team to go the states with a full roster. There had been individual qualifiers over the past 4 years, but up until last year, there had not been a full team from Green Level competing at states.

The accomplishments of last year definitely were great but the team is more focused on this season. I got the chance to talk to Junior golfer, Cooper Champ, on how he is preparing for the season. “I am hitting the gym as much as possible, going to the range for a few hours each day and then putting for a while,” says Champ.

Over the past couple of weeks, Coach Rogers has also been hosting workouts after school for anyone interested in the golf team. He wants to make sure that the team, whoever it may be, is healthy and prepared for the season.

There is so much to look forward to for this upcoming season. Coach Rogers spoke to me about those feelings, “I’m most excited to get back out on the golf course after a great women’s season. There have been a couple months off. I am excited to just get back out there and see what the guys can do.”

Good luck at your upcoming tryouts and we are excited to see what you guys can do this season!
