Antoine Fuqua is producing a long-gestating movie about the life of Michael Jackson called Michael. It was announced Michael Jackson’s 26-year-old nephew, Jaafar, will be portraying him in this new movie. This will mark his first major film role. This young actor states that he is “humbled and honored” to portray his uncle, Michael.

The movie will be a big-screen musical biopic, but it’s still unclear if they will or will not reference the child sexual abuse allegations Michael faced during his life. He was in fact not found guilty of child molestation in 2005. Katherine Jackson, Michael Jackson’s mother, says, “Jaafar embodies my son. It’s so wonderful to see him carry on the Jackson legacy of entertainers and performers.”

Many people have said that they are blown away by how similar Jaafar’s personality and spirit are to Michael Jackson’s. “He is the perfect cast member to portray Michael,” King claims. “It was something so powerful that even after conducting a worldwide search, it was clear that he is the only person to take on this role.” Jaafar has been practicing his dance moves, vocals, and performances, and looks to perfect his role.

The singer and songwriter is the son of Jermaine Jackson, Michaels’s brother, and a member of The Jackson 5. We don’t know for sure when this movie will be released, but many predictions claim that they think it will be out sometime this year or early next year. This film will be an enlightening, interesting, informative movie that Antoine Fuqua and Jaafar Jackson can’t wait to share with the world.
