Green Level’s Model UN smiles at UNC Chapel Hill.

Over the past weekend, 22 of our Model UN delegates traveled to UNC-Chapel Hill to partake in the annual Model UN Chapel Hill (MUNCH) conference. This esteemed event is a three-day simulation on international relations where delegates assume the roles of world leaders and decision-makers. By collaborating with others, students develop problem-solving skills and gain an understanding of the inner workings of the United Nations.

This conference is the first ever that our Model UN club has participated in, and it has been marked as a milestone experience for many. The delegates interacted with students from many different schools and researched the positions of countries beyond their own. From new members to members who have participated since the beginning, all gained memorable experiences and lifelong friendships. The skills they cultivated through this conference have allowed them to grow as both delegates and individuals.

After preparing for months, our delegation showed up and showed out! Kavin Meenakshi and Sahil Manglani won the “Outstanding Delegate Award” for their participation in the DISEC committee, where they discussed threats to world peace. Sarayu Buchireddygari, our Model UN’s Vice President, won the “Best Delegate Award” for her contributions to the AMCOW committee, where she worked with her peers to find solutions to water scarcity in Africa.

At the amazing turnout from this conference, Model UN is excited to continue to represent Green Level in the future!
