The John Wick series has established itself as a mainstay in the action film genre and is renowned for its gripping plotlines, dazzling stunts, and action-packed battle scenes.

The first John Wick film introduced viewers to the title character, a former hitman out for vengeance after his cherished puppy was killed. As the deadly and stoic killer John Wick, played by Keanu Reeves, he made a lasting impression. With a focus on hand-to-hand combat and gun-fu, the action scenes in the movie were brilliantly orchestrated. The film was a critical and financial hit and laid the groundwork for the franchise’s future.

John is drawn back into the world of assassins in John Wick Chapter 2, which takes up immediately after the events of the first film. The movie builds on the series’ mythology by adding the High Table, an organization of formidable crime lords who rule the assassin underground. The action scenes are significantly more intricate than in the first film, and one particularly memorable scenario occurs in a hall of mirrors. Further outstanding performances in the movie come from Common, Laurence Fishburne, and Ian McShane.

In John Wick Chapter 3 (Parabellum), John is excommunicated from the assassin community and has a reward placed on his head. The movie boasts numerous action scenes, such as a knife fight in a glass chamber and a horse chase through New York City’s streets. As Sofia, a fellow assassin who aids John in his struggle for survival, Halle Berry joins the ensemble. The movie also paves the way for prospective sequels in the series, making viewers eager for what’s to come.

The John Wick series has distinguished itself as a star in the action film category. It’s no surprise that the movies have such a large fan base, given their sleek aesthetics, endearing characters, and thrilling action scenes. The world and mythology of the series are expanded upon in each episode, leaving viewers clamoring for more. This series has by far given the best introduction to the upcoming 4th chapter of the John wick series.
