Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 is an upcoming superhero movie based on the superhero team of the same name from Marvel Comics. It is the sequel to Guardians of the Galaxy and Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 and is the last installment in the Guardians of the Galaxy series. The film is written and directed by James Gunn, and stars Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana, Dave Bautista, Bradley Cooper, Karen Gillan, and Pom Klementieff. The film’s plot is still under wraps, but it is said to involve the Guardians facing off against a new threat and will dive more into Rocket Raccoon’s backstory. The film is scheduled to be released on May 5, 2023. 

Here are some of the new and exciting things that we know about the upcoming Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3. 

• The film’s synopsis reads: The Guardians of the Galaxy are adjusting to life on Knowhere when parts of Rocket’s past resurface. In order to protect him, Peter Quill must lead the Guardians on a dangerous mission that could lead to the team dissolving.
• Will Poulter has been added to the cast as Adam Warlock, following up from Vol. 2, which saw the villain of that film, Ayesha, promising to create a creature called Adam, capable of destroying the Guardians. 
• The villain of this film will be the High Evolutionary (played by Chukwudi Iwuji). In the comics, he is a human man from Manchester, UK whose academic interest in genetics and evolution went too far. He wants to create the perfect species, and an Eternal turned him into the High Evolutionary. In the movie, it is unclear if he is from Manchester or an alien from space, but his aim to evolve all species and build a perfect society remains the same. 
• The Gamora that will be featured in this film is not the same Gamora as all the other films. As you will recall, in Avengers: Infinity War, Gamora was thrown off a cliff by her adoptive father Thanos for him to acquire the Soul Stone. In Endgame, the Avengers’ Time Heist created a new variant of Gamora, who then escaped into space after the final battle. Zoe Saldana will be playing the latter version of Gamora. 
• It has also been confirmed that this is Dave Bautista’s last outing as Drax the Destroyer, leading many fans to speculate that he will meet his end in this film. 
• The Collector (from Guardians 2 and Infinity War) sold the Guardians Knowhere, a Celestial’s head, which is now their base of operations. 

Guardians of the Galaxy Volume 3 is one of the most anticipated superhero films of 2023. The film has the potential to be a major blockbuster and a fitting end to the Guardians’ stories.
