From spirt week dress-up days, a pep rally, the big homecoming game, and the classic homecoming dance, Homecoming 2023 was a blast for Green Level students and staff.
On Monday, students participated in twin day by wearing matching outfits and more. On Tuesday, students dressed up in their brightest, shiniest pink clothes for Barbie and Ken day. Shopping carts, trash cans, and even cereal boxes were used to carry around school supplies on Wednesday for anything but a backpack day. On Thursday, students got to choose what team they wanted to dress as: cowboys or aliens? Finally, on Friday, each class wore their class color to show off their gator spirit.
Friday’s pep rally sure got the students and staff excited for that night’s homecoming game versus the Holly Springs Hawks. Fall sports were introduced, the cheer, band, and dance teams performed, students and staff played musical chairs, and the 99.9 The Fan Scholar Athlete of the Month was presented to men’s soccer player Eric Stohle.
While the Green Level football team did not pull out the win at Friday’s homecoming game versus Holly Springs, they put up a good fight, the final score being 20-24. The Goonies were as loud as can be, wearing their favorite team’s jersey for jersey out. During halftime, the 2023 Homecoming Court was presented. Some Green Level alumni showed up to support the football team and say hello to their old teachers and friends on homecoming.
Students put on their finest dresses, suits, and sneakers for Saturday’s “Sneaker Ball” homecoming dance. They danced the night away to their favorite songs, took photos, and got to see the 2023 homecoming king and queen take the crown–Gus Maggio and Paige Adams.
