As athletes at Green Level, you want your last home game to be special and memorable. Well College basketball superstar Caitlin Clark, she accomplished that. This Sunday she passed LSU legend and NBA Hall of Famer Pete Maravich for most points scored by a Division 1 basketball player: men’s or women’s.
For those who don’t know who Pete Maravich is, he played high school ball at Broughton High School in Downtown Raleigh, NC. He then went on to play college ball at LSU where he was a 3x Division 1 leading scorer and scored a total of 3,667 points in 3 seasons. He was known for being very fast and having great handles which at the time was amazing to see. Maravich played for the Hawks, Celtics, Utah Jazz, and New Orleans Jazz.
Everyone knows who Caitlin Clark is. She’s killing it right now with having such a record-breaking season, she previously passed Kelsey Plum in women’s scoring who had 3,527 points, and also had set a record in that same game for dropping 49 points which is Iowa’s single game points record. She recently confirmed that she will be entering the WNBA draft and of course, she’s projected to go No.1. With the season winding down we hope to see Clark holding up that trophy to complete her senior season resume.
