Sunday, May 12th, 2024 is Mother’s Day, a day to celebrate all that our moms do for us! To show your appreciation, it is nice to get the mothers of the world a gift on this day each year. To help those who are unsure of what to get, I have put together a list of some great gifts that your mom would likely appreciate! 

1. One thing you can never go wrong with is a bouquet of flowers. There are several varieties of flowers you can buy as pre-made bouquets, or you could make your own. If you want something a little more unique, you could also make a DIY “forever” flower. Some great options are the LEGO flowers, crochet flowers, paper flowers, and fabric flowers. The great thing about flowers is that you can choose any type or color of flower that your mom would like best.

   

2. Another especially popular gift is jewelry. This includes things like a necklace, bracelet, or ring. You could go all out and buy a piece of fine jewelry, or even make your own jewelry by going to the craft store and buying the supplies! Another great thing about jewelry is you can customize it to your liking by choosing the design, pendant, and color of it. To make it even more personalized, you can find stores, like Etsy and Pandora, that can engrave words or designs into the jewelry!

   

3. If you are looking for something more sentimental and handmade, I’d recommend making a scrapbook or handmade card. What makes these so special is you can include any memories, photographs, or sentiments you have of your mom. There are several ideas and tutorials online of these DIY crafts that you can follow or use for reference!

   

4. The next gifts that can be either handmade or store-bought are bath products such as bath bombs, bath salts, bubble bath solutions, or shower jellies. Some stores I’d recommend for finding these self-care products are Lush, Target, Ulta, and Sephora. However, YouTube and some blog websites have tutorials on how to make these products yourself in order to make your gift especially personalized.

   

5. Lastly, you can always get a gift card to her favorite place. This is a great option if you are looking for something super quick, easy, and last-minute to buy for your mom. You can get a gift card for her favorite food place, to do an activity, or one that goes along with her hobbies!

All in all, it is important to show that you appreciate all that your mom does for you! If you don’t have time to make a gift, words of affirmation are always a great way to express your appreciation. Another simple way you can celebrate your mom is by taking her out to eat somewhere.
