The Green Level Fall league is underway and they expect to continue their success from last season. They return last year’s starters Isaac Ericksen and Trevor Manhertz. The tournament takes place on Saturday, September 14th from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM. The Goon Squad will play two games on Saturday. They will play the Garner Trojans at 10:00 AM and Team Raleigh at 12:00 PM. They had a really good turnout last fall league and are hoping to go even further in the tournament. 

    The Goon Squad will be without last year’s senior starter’s Tye Cain and Trey Manhertz.  Four year varsity starter Isaac Ericksen said “It will hurt not having them but we still have the pieces to win the games.” Losing Trey Manhertz and Tye Cain’s production on the court will definitely be missed but Isaac Ericksen’s statement was very much true. They will return Garrett Midkiff, Trevor Manhertz, and bring up Andrew Schall who is a promising junior. All of these players played a huge role in last year’s success going to the Elite 8 in the regular season and are expecting to have a bigger impact on the Goon Squad. 

    The Tournament will last for four weeks, the first three weeks will be normal tournament play and the final week will be the championship round. “I’m looking forward to building chemistry with the team and getting better” said by Trevor Manhertz. The Goon Squads main focus in this tournament is to build chemistry for the winter league but also look to go far in the tournament and win the championship this year.
