On Thursday, September 12th, Green Level Varsity swept the defending 4A state champions, Middle Creek mustangs. JVA along with JVB also both won their games against the mustangs.
As of Friday, September 13th, all three of Green Level volleyball teams remain undefeated. Varsity had their first away win against the Green Hope falcons for the first time in program history.
Varsity won in a close game that went to a 5th set, the score of the final set was 15-9. Green Hope and Green Level were the only two undefeated teams left in the conference. This win helped move the Gators to first in the conference.
These wins gave the team more confidence going into the rest of the season. When captain’s Jr. Arushi Shah and Jr. Lindley Miller were asked how they feel about the rest of their games this season after beating one of their closest competitors, here are some of their responses. Arushi Shah stated “It really increased our confidence because it was a big momentum boost, especially winning that 5th set that was really close, so I think it’s going to help our confidence when we play harder teams such as Gibbons and Chapel Hill”
Another response was from Lindley Miller, “I think it was a good boost for us because at the start of the season we had two pretty big losses (out of conference), so I think this helps us get ready for the rest of the season.”
The team is hoping to keep their undefeated season going, they will take the court again on Monday, September 16th, against Wakefield at the swamp. Green Level is looking to win the NC state championship, which they haven’t won since the 2022 season. Come support the team on their road to one of the most successful seasons in program history.
