In Green Level’s first game of the season, on August 23rd, they lost to South Granville 18-20 in Overtime. Most of the offense came from Jr. Jacob Fedich and Fr. Aaron Sadler. Aaron Sadler had 3 carries for 87 yards and 2 touchdowns. Meanwhile, Jacob Fedich had 143 yards on 21 carries rushing. One of the defensive standouts was Will Estes who had 10 tackles and 5 tackles for loss. The other standout was Anthony Zheng, he had 12 tackles and a field goal block.
In Week 2 against Willow Springs at home, on August 29, they lost 21-6. In the loss, Sr. Andrew Langdon threw for 111 yards on 24 attempts and 16 completions. He also had one rushing touchdown. The receiving leader was Fr. Aaron Sadler who had 56 yards receiving on 6 receptions. The tackle leaders for the game were Jordan Tatum with 9 solo tackles and Anthony Zheng with 11 total tackles. While Landon Moore had 10 total tackles with one sack with Will Estes had 2 sacks, 2 tackles for loss, 11 tackles, and one forced fumble. Landon Moore said “We didn’t play to our full potential but had some flashes of good things” As they look to bounce back against Broughton.
In Week 3, they played at Broughton High School. They lost 31-12 but Sr. Andrew Langdon threw for 139 yards on 28 passes and converted 20 completions. While Jr. Alex Curtis and Fr. Aaron Sadler each had a rushing touchdown. Sr. Jordan Tatum had 75 receiving yards on 7 receptions. Jr. Ashish Varadaraju had one tackle for loss and Sr.Will Estes had 2 Tackles for loss. Sr. Dillon Kaufman had his first interception of the season in the first quarter.
Week 4 was a bye week for the team to rest and recover in hopes of bouncing back in their first home conference game against Cary, with most of the seniors back after many injuries. “We have been preparing for a while and refreshed looking for a win,” Jordan Tatum said. As the Gators seek the first win of the season they are looking refreshed and determined.
