For the people who wake up early everyday to get on the bus and go to school, are you guys having enough sleep? For the people who go to school by car, do you also want to wake your parents up early to drive you to school? For the family members, is it not troubling to see your son/daughter leave for school even though the sun is not up?
Everyone has issues with waking up early and everyone has different time schedules too. Some can wake up early at 6, and some can wake up late at 10. Everyone has times where they want to sleep as much as possible due to the stressful day in school. Many students don’t prefer to wake up early to get to school early.
Studies show that most average people sleep less than 7 hours and that can cause sleeping disorders and it’s not right. An average sleep schedule should be about 8-9 hours and we are definitely not getting enough sleep.
According to a survey of 18 Green Level Students, the time most students wake up is 5:50 and they sleep at 10:30 which indicates that students are waking up very early to get to school faster. That shows that they only get around 7 hours of sleep which leads us to the Sleep Statistics 2024’s statement.
Sleep Statistics 2024 Says “The average person gets less than seven hours of sleep every night and 50 to 70 million adults in the U.S. are affected by a sleep disorder.” This shows how many adults and also kids that fit around this time schedule really need their sleep and get their mind off of things like homework and just work in general.
People who get a lot of sleep can say to start sleeping at 7:30 to 8:00 so that you can get a good night but that’s just really hard due to all the homework and classes like tutoring at that time because those things are always very time consuming and sleep always comes at the end and you cannot do anything about it.
Another thing to think about is that both students and bus drivers have to wake up early due to the WCPSS bus routes that all start from around 6:10 to 6:45 and waking up early for that is a huge feat. This affects bus drivers because they have to wake up early to pick us up and that’s with a low pay and kids need to wake up early to catch the bus and they don’t get paid, they need to study instead.
Avanish, Green Level Student says “I have a lot of homework given to me and I have to stay up late to finish it and knowing that I have to wake up early the next day makes me resent school and I wish the school timings change so that I can wake up at a later time but come to school more fresh.”
Having a lot more sleep can really help boost your academic performance by a lot and having that is a win-win for the students and Green Level High School because having good grades can really help boost the reputation of Green Level and the esteem of this High School. This can help students to get into their dream school and do whatever they want to do in their own free time and they can do that way more productively.
