On Thursday, October 3rd Green Level’s volleyball team made history by winning the SWAC for the first time since 2022. They were able to secure this title after their intense 5 set game against Green Hope. It was a very close matchup with both teams fighting to stay in the game.
You may remember earlier in the season when the Gators met the Falcons in an early season game. That game was no different then this one, both going to 5 sets and both ending with Green Level on top.
Madison Simmons is a freshman on the team and she had this to say about the game. “We knew that Green Hope was a pretty solid team, and we came into the game pretty confident. We also knew that we had to show up and we had to play hard.”
Another freshman on the team, Naja Thigpen said, “We went into this game with a winning mindset, but during the game, especially after the third set where we went down 2-1 it was harder to stay positive. We just focused on our game and that helped us win the last two sets.”
There are 3 more games for the Gators left in the regular season. The last game is on October 10th, at 6pm against Apex Friendship at the Swamp. Be sure to come out and support the Gators in their last game.
