It’s that time of the year again, when all the spooky, scary, and everything in between, come out. A favorite activity comes around yearly, but is it worth the hype?
Phillips Farms is a haunted farm with 4-5 main attractions that are meant to scare you. Paid actors roam around the grounds and come up behind you to freak you out. Even though they aren’t allowed to touch you, the scare factor is always high. Realistic makeup and accurate embodiments of the character make the actors seem real and can truly scare you to another level.
It’s almost like a tradition to go during this exciting month and get a good scare with your friends. But, the attractions stay the same every year, so why are people drawn in to go every time?
Haley Patel, a freshman at Green Level High, goes to Phillips Farms every year because “the thrill of getting scared just makes the night so much more fun. I get to hang out with my friends, meet new people who are equally scared, and have a good time. The actors also rotate every year, so it’s never really the same experience twice.”
Saanvi Yeramaddu, another freshman at GLHS thinks that “Phillips farm is just on preference. If you like getting scared, this is the place for you but if you just want to have fun there are other places you could go to. In my opinion, Phillips Farms is fun and one of my favorite things to do during this season.”
The attractions, people, and food greatly affect the experience. With actors walking around and scaring people, or chasing them across the grounds, Phillips Farm keeps you on your toes. Food trucks that flash “Funnel Cake!” or “Johnny’s Pizza!” have people lined up after being scared on an empty stomach.
The thrill of Phillips Farm is solely based on your preference, and is just based on the question, “Do you like getting scared?”, and if so, Phillips Farm is the place for you to scream your lungs out, eat good food, and hang out with friends!
