Recently, sporting events at Green Level haven’t had the same reach as they used to have. People simply haven’t been showing up like they used to. Of course, this does not positively impact the school’s income. Sporting events are necessary to receive funding to maintain the school, so something may have to change to attract more people.
Some things can be done, though. One of the biggest problems is that students simply don’t know that the games are happening. Coach Woolf, a Basketball coach, believes that as well; “More advertising would help a lot. Not just for the games, but for performances, band concerts, etc.” The school can also offer a points system for coming, which can then grant free concessions.
If a student knows about the game, they may still not come. There are many reasons for this, like the competitiveness of our school and the constant need to attend extracurricular activities. Students would often prefer to stay home and study than to attend a sports game.
Sports games on Friday or Saturday nights will likely have more people attending since they won’t have anything to study for the next day. Giving away free tickets in raffles at events like dances could also incline people to come, since if someone’s friend won a ticket, they would want to go too.
