Do you want to form a club in Green Level but don’t know where to start? Well here is the perfect guide to get you started!
Starting a club could be very important to build your resume. Forming a club is very prestigious, it suggests that you know how to manage responsibilities, get leadership experience, and work experience.
First we need to know what kind of club you want to start, there are three categories as to where your idea would fit.
Category one consists of clubs that are nationally recognised and are held every year with no fail. These kinds of clubs are a huge deal since these clubs represent all of Green Level. An example of these kinds of clubs are Science Olympiad and National Honor Society.
Category two consists of clubs that want to serve the community and/or engage in meaningful activities. Examples of these clubs are The Environmental Club and Autism Awareness Club.
Category three consists of informal clubs who simply want to help relax the crowd, these clubs serve as a way to distract people from stress and depression. Examples of these clubs are Swifties in the Swamp, Trivia club, and KPOP dance club.
Avinash, freshman in Green Level, wasn’t aware of these guidelines but after hearing them he understood better, “Although I am quite uninterested in this whole club making process, these categories did make it easier for me to see what clubs fall under which area like informal is category three and category one has all the important stuff.”
Applications come out on April 22nd and closes on May 3rd and you can only pick to make a club that fits either category one or category two. Some new things they mentioned were no need to find advisors, they will find one for us. Student governments now manage a huge part of the clubs and oversee whether they are doing the right things and being active.
For those who already created a club, you can now fill out a form for legacy status, where the club continues to run even after you leave. This is only available if they meet the Green Level requirements like spreading school spirit and are active, and get approval from the advisory teacher. This is a great start to leadership experience, especially if your resume is blank!
