Acie Tatum was a sweet girl who attended Green Level High School. She graduated in 2024 and went to college at UNC-Charlotte, but sadly passed away in a tragic car accident on the morning of September 7th. In her time at Green Level, she was on the cheerleading and stunt team and made a huge impact on those who knew her.
As the cheer and stunt coach, April Mack coached Acie during her time here. She had known her since her Freshman year, and was able to get to know Acie at a deeper level.
Mack says, “She could light up a room and bring joy to all who knew her.”
Acie was the cheer MVP her junior year. Mack says Acie worked so hard and was a great teammate.
“Acie was one of the kindest cheerleaders and stunt athletes that I have coached,” says Mack. “She always had a smile on her face and worked so hard each day.”
Acie created a large impact on everybody she knew, and they will always remember her, as will her teammates.
Cheer captain Emma Green was on cheer and stunt with her for two years and got to know Acie and how amazing a person she truly was. Green was able to learn from her and become a great captain and teammate because of it.
“Acie had such a big impact on the Green Level cheer team through her leadership and passion for the sport. She loved to cheer so much and made sure as a team we always did our best,” says Green.
Green adds that Acie always had a positive outlook on life.
Although a time like this can be hard for many people, Coach Mack will always have Acie in her heart.
“She was always the teammate who would try to be friends with everyone and was always welcoming to new girls on our team. I could count on Acie to always give 150% and to be a reliable teammate.”
