Green Level Football has reached the midseason point in their 2025-26 campaign. The Gators have started the season out 1-4, 0-1 in conference play, heading into the bye week. Although this start is not ideal, the Gators are still looking to salvage this season and make the playoffs.
The Gators started week one against Athens Drive. The Gators started the season on a high note, defeating the Jaguars 34-20. Sophomore Luke Pagan had 147 rushing yards and 3 touchdowns for the Gators, carrying them to their first win.
The week one win was then followed by losses against Broughton (43-14) and Enloe (41-26), bringing the Gators to 1-2 on the season. Sophomore Luke Pagan had three touchdowns over this span, Sophomore Aaron Sadler had two, and Senior Andrew Burkall had one. Sophomore quarterback Chase Meyers had 275 passing yards over these two games.
In week four, the Gators fell to Cary 29-14, bringing the record to 1-3 on the season. Luke Pagan had 195 rushing yards and both respective touchdowns for the Gators. Chase Meyers had 170 passing yards, with 125 of those yards going to Aaron Sadler through the air.
In the most recent game, the Gators opened conference play against Panther Creek. The Gators fell to the Catamounts 41-14, falling to 1-4 on the season and 0-1 in conference play. Luke Pagan had 81 yards on the ground, paired with one touchdown, while Freshman Derek “Butter” Monroe had his first receiving touchdown of the season.
Through the first five games, the Gators have scored a total of 14 touchdowns, with running back Luke Pagan having nine of those 14.
For the rest of the season, the Gators have one main goal they are striving for: making the playoffs. Head coach of the football team, Ben Woolf, described how this is always the main goal for the team.
“Our goal all the time is to make the playoffs,” Woolf said. “We know we have not done that yet, and that’s still our goal.”
Woolf also detailed how the students can show up to the final two home games and support the team in their push to the playoffs.
“Fan support is always huge for all the players. Supporting your team, supporting your school, supporting your friends that are on teams.” Woolf said.
The Gators will be back in action at Willow Springs on Friday, October 3rd, with the theme being Ski Out. The next home game action for the Gators will be against Apex on Friday, October 17th, with the theme being Jersey Out. Come out and pack the Swamp!
