Green Level’s varsity volleyball team remains undefeated after Tuesday’s game against the Patriots. Apex Friendship was 2-9 but the gators handed them their 10th loss this season, keeping them in second to last place within the Quad City 7. Green level is now 18-0 without a single set lost, remaining first in the conference and first in the state of North Carolina.
The Gators got more aggressive as the game went on, ending the first set 25-20, then the second set 25-15, and the third set 25-7.
Starting opposite hitter Lindley Miller, said, “I think in the third set we were more relaxed and just focused on playing our game and having fun.”
This is the second time our volleyball team beat Friendship this season and the last game was early in the season.
Aarushi Shah, senior on the team, said, “This time there was more pressure because we are undefeated and we want to keep it this way.”
Friendship was the first conference game that they played and there was no pressure since Green level wasn’t ranked then. Now that they are starting to play the same teams again, they have placed a larger target on their backs which will assure that they are getting everyone’s best game.
Varsity has been doing exceptionally well and we expect to see this same intensity throughout the rest of the conference season and playoff games. On Thursday, the Gators are traveling to Apex High School to take on the cougars at 6pm. We are expecting a similar outcome as the previous game against the cougars but this time in their gym.
