Varsity coach for 16 years, made elite 8 three times, 1,000 point scorer in college. It’s safe to say that Coach Green knows his basketball. He has been known to turn programs around from bottom of the conference teams to best in the state teams. While he has been rebuilding basketball programs from the ground up he also has been a teacher for 20 plus years.
It started at Beddingfield High School where Green played 5 varsity sports, and was named all conference in 4 different sports. Green says his favorite sport other than basketball was […]. From all of his hard work he was awarded by being put into the Beddingfield athletics hall of fame. After a successful High School career he committed to Barton College to play basketball.
He started off coaching JV basketball at Green Hope for 4 years and was quickly promoted to Varsity Head Coach, where he stayed for 9 years.
He quickly turned Green Hope around in his first year making a run to the conference championship where they tragically lost. However, he used that as fuel and finished his coaching at Green Hope with a 153-91 record.
Green Level saw his success at turning a school around and knew that they needed Green. After just 3 seasons at Green Level he had already made it to the conference championship.
Green said “he doesn’t pick favorites.” However, the 2023-2024 and 2024-2025 he said were his top two favorite teams. “The undefeated season was one I will never forget, but last year going to the John Wall, Outer Banks, and Tourney Championship.” were at the top of his list
Coach Green has solidified himself as one of the best coaches in North Carolina over the past 20 years.
