It is officially a spooky season and everyone knows what that means: haunted houses. There are two main places that students at Green Level like to go, Phillips Farm and Panic Point. Both are places to go with friends if you want to get a good scare in, and they have dressed up actors, and jump scares everywhere. The question is, which is better though?
Lots of students have been to either just one place, or both but lots of them think different things. One reason why a lot of students like going to Phillips Farm is because it’s only about 5 minutes away from here while panic point is about 40. But many prefer Panic Point because they think it is scarier so their opinions differ.
The houses are filled with gore, with fake blood everywhere as well as all over the actors. They also have fake weapons like chainsaws and guns that help with the scare. They will literally pop out at you and jump at you to try to raise your heart rate to give you that jump scare.
At Phillips Farm there is a hay ride, and three haunted houses including the clown house, butcher shop, and farm house. The actors are hidden throughout the houses to jump scare you and make your heart race and pound.
At Panic Point though, the main attractions are the haunted forest, dark trail, hayride, corn maze, stalkers farm, and carny crypt.
Junior at Green Level High School, Camryn Barnett loves scary things. She watches horror movies and likes to go to these haunted places. She really likes Panic Point because she thinks that it has more activities and it is more fun.
“I think Panic Point is better because Phillips farm doesn’t have that many things to do and while it may have houses and food trucks it gets busy very quickly.” Barnett says.
She also thinks that the actors and attractions at Phillips farm are just not very scary and the lines are just too long.
“The haunted attractions and actors were overall a 7 [out of 10]. They weren’t that scary and we were only able to get in the hay ride and one house in because the lines were so long.”
Sophomore at Green Level High School, Emma Reynolds is also a sucker for scary things. She has gone to both Phillips Farm and Panic Point and she loves the feeling of being scared.
She prefers Panic Point over Phillips farm because she loves how the workers do their job and she thinks it feels as if you are inside a horror movie.
“The attractions are not only scary but so cool how they make everything come together. When you’re at Panic Point it really feels like you are living in a horror movie from the moment you step in and out.” Reynolds says.
She thinks that Phillips Farm is just way less scary than Panic Point, so it is less fun and you should take the drive to get the experience at Panic Point.
Overall, it seems that if you are looking for a super scary, bloody, horror experience then Panic Point is the place for you, but if you are looking for a fun time and something a little less scary, then you should go to Phillips Farm. Everybody is looking for something different so it all comes down to how you want to experience it.
