Star Wars to Kick Off the Winter Break

A. Kolla, Staff Writer

The new Star Wars trilogy will be coming to an end this week with a third film. The new trilogy started in 2015 with The Force Awakens and will come to a close with The Rise of Skywalker. According to IMDb, the movie comes out on Friday, December 20th. That’s the last day of school before winter break.

The second movie of the trilogy, The Last Jedi, was released in 2017. Both of the first movies in the trilogy got good critic reviews on Rotten Tomatoes with 93% and 91% respectively. The audience scores, however, are a bit different. The first movie received a generally good reception with audiences on Rotten Tomatoes scoring it at 86%. The second movie, however, got a 43% audience score on the site. This has made many people, for example, Advaith Cheruvu, a student at Green Level High School, worried about the new movie, him and many other fans think that it might be just as bad. Cheruvu said that while the second movie seemed fine while watching it, he thought about it afterward and realized that it wasn’t really that good.

Cheruvu, however, is still hopeful that the new movie will be better than the last. He still likes Star Wars and wants it to succeed. Star Wars fans around the world share this sentiment.
