Booming Songs
Music can be an escape from stress, and it can be a lifesaver at times. So what songs really contribute the most to how our school community functions?
School is sometimes the most stressful part of a teenager’s life, and many students procrastinate by listening to songs. I asked two students what their favorite genre was and their top three favorite songs to fuel procrastination.
John Campbell, a student and theater member at Green Level, says: “My favorite genre really depends on the mood I’m in, but my favorite three songs are “Waving Through A Window by Ben Platt (From the musical ‘Dear Evan Hansen’, Location – Khalid, and Count on me- Bruno Mars.”
Liv Marino had somewhat similar music taste, she enjoyed Pop and Theater music. Her top three favorites were: “Told You So – Little Mix, A Different Beat – Little Mix, and finally Bounce Back – Little Mix.”
Both Cambell and Marino are theater kids, so their taste might differ from that of other teenagers who enjoy rap or pop. Some songs that are going wild right now are:
- Make Me Want To – Jimmie Allen
- Only Human – Jonas Brothers
- G N F – Migos, Young Thug, Travis Scott
- Truth Hurts – Lizzo
- Everything I Wanted – Billie Eilish
Keep listening, Gators, and send us suggestions for what you’d like to see here while we’re all stuck at home!
