Steelers Still Going Strong
November 29, 2020
In the National Football League, there are usually a few teams that stand out above all the others. On some occasions, only one team stands out with great players and a great record. This season that team happens to be the Pittsburgh Steelers. The Steelers are the last team left undefeated which is very impressive as they have gone against some of the better teams in the league.
This season, the Steelers have some crazy good players. One of whom being T.J Watt, one of the best outside linebackers in the league. He was the 30th overall pick in the 2017 NFL draft. His brother, J.J Watt is a very well known defensive end for the Texans, another great player in the NFL. T.J Watt has been impressing the Steelers for a while, with 2 sacks on the Giants Daniel Jones in his very first preseason game. Last season, he had a whopping 14.5 sacks, and he was a contender for defensive player of the year.
Another one of their star players is wide receiver JuJu Smith-Schuster. His rookie season, he had 58 receptions, 917 receiving yards and 7 touchdowns. This season alone, JuJu has 439 receiving yards and 4 touchdowns. This may not seem like the best stats or you might think that he’s not that good but he makes the important plays. Ben Roethlisberger can always look to him and count on him to make the catch. Juju was the 2nd pick in the 2017 draft, and he has done some great things for the Steelers since.
Arguably the most important player on the Steelers is their veteran quarterback, Ben Roethlisberger. Roethlisberger was the 11th pick all the way back in the 2004 draft. This season he has 1,934 yards and over the course of his career he has a whopping 58,479 yards! Roethlisberger is considered by some to be one of the greatest quarterbacks in the NFL, winning two Super Bowls against the Seahawks and the Cardinals back in the early 2000s.
With all of these incredible players, one might see how they are still undefeated this far into the season. Who knows what the rest of the season might hold, but as of right now it’s looking like they’re on a course to do great things.
