Workouts Commence – Daivik Nambiar

After a long offseason, Gator football has finally started the grind for the upcoming season. Workouts occurred on November 30th and December 2nd where players began training for different aspects of the field. Groups were split up around the Green Level campus to work with coaches on strengthening their game. I noticed that everyone was eager to get back to work and into their flow. Coaches and players were chatting as they worked on different skills, and everyone was happy to be there.

The team will continue this schedule, the next workouts being December 10th and 11th, and go into January where the season is set to start. Green Level Junior Justin Sheppard gave his thoughts on returning to practice with the team for the first time since last season.

Experience of Returning to Football – Justin Sheppard

Recently, Green Level Football has finally started their workouts. I myself was excited to get back into the swing of things and start working with my coaches again. The coaches were well prepared and welcoming. It was nice to talk to some of the new coaches as well. We’re all glad to have them. It was great to be back but due to COVID, but it wasn’t the experience most of us were expecting. We were not allowed to have any contact, and had to keep masks on at all times. Despite the setbacks and restrictions, the Gators and coaches followed the rules with no hesitation and no problems. The entire experience flowed really well.

With the assistance of Coach Goudeau, the Green Level leadership team worked together this past Friday in order to improve the motions and the environment for the betterment of the team. The entire coaching staff is working diligently to allow all of the players to get better no matter the circumstances. Overall, I personally was glad to be back with my fellow Gators and hope our workouts set us in the right path for the start of the season.
