First game. First win.

On Monday, August 19th the Green Level Varsity Men’s Soccer Team, coached by Deniz Solakoglu, defeated Fuquay Varina 2-0 at Gator Stadium. The win represents the first victory by any Green Level sports team. The Gators, led by a contingent of freshman and sophomores, defeated a veteran Bengal squad.

The Gators opened scoring in the first half off of a beautiful header by Caden Covington followed by another goal by Josiah Pasteris. The backline stayed strong all night, anchored by brilliant play from goalkeeper Nicolas Pucci who earned the first clean sheet in school history. The atmosphere in the stadium remained electric throughout the night, especially as the clock wound down and the Gators secured the upset win.

The soccer teams return to action on Wednesday, August 21st at 4:30pm and 6:30pm (JV & Varsity) when they will host Apex High School here at Gator Stadium. The Varsity Volleyball Team will also be in action on Wednesday night vs. South Garner High School at 6:00pm in the Main Gym and the Varsity Women’s Tennis Team takes the court on Thursday at 3:00pm vs. Apex Friendship High School here on campus.
