The Women’s Golf Team is off to a solid start. They have competed in two SWAC conference matches so far and have finished 3rd place and 2nd place respectively.

Ava Heaton, a junior, is off to a great start to the season, being the low score for the Gators in both matches at Macgregor Downs and 12 Oaks. She shot 41 in both matches.

When I asked Ava what prompted her fast start to the season she said, “My fast start is definitely just my motivation to be better and I just completely fell in love with playing again” Ava hopes that soon she will be “consistently shooting the 30s” When I talked to Ava about goals for the team, she was very clear about what the team wanted, “We want to make it to states as a team” As a Freshman, Ava and Maddy Linares represented Green Level as individuals and last year Maddy represented Green Level as an individual. Making it as a team would truly bring the women’s golf program to the next level.

The women’s golf team will travel to RGA today (9/13) and will have their host match at the Preserve (9/15).
