This past Monday and Tuesday (10/25-10/26) Maddy Linares and Ava Heaton represented Green Level High School at the 4a State Championships at Pinehurst #5.

Maddy shot rounds of (85-82) to finish in a tie for 45th place. I got a chance to ask her about her performance. “As my third year making to the golf state championship, I have learned so much about my mental and physical golf game and there is always room for improvement! I feel states didn’t go as well as I’d hoped it go, my game wasn’t fully there the first day but the second day I really pushed hard and played the best I could based off of the windy conditions we had to play in.” When asked about next season Maddy responded, “I am really looking forward to my senior season, I am going to grind out my game in the winter, spring, and summer months. I will be ready for next year, and I know it will be our best season yet.”

Ava shot rounds of (83-86) to come in a tie for 51st place. When asked about how her season went, she responded as such, “Personally I met many of my goals – being first team and making it to regionals and states. As a team, we usually put up some of the best scores as a whole. I am so excited just to be in the regular matches next year. I can’t wait!”

Good stuff from our lady gators – concluding their fall season in fashion at Pinehurst.
