Drew Downs, a sophomore has just committed to Vanderbilt University for baseball. Vanderbilt is located in Nashville, Tennessee: a consistent powerhouse in the College Baseball scene!

I got to ask Drew why Vanderbilt was a good fit for him…

“I loved both the baseball and the academic side of Vanderbilt. A degree from there goes really far.”

In regards to the recruitment process, the decision to verbally commit to Vandy was pretty easy for Drew. “I had received other offers from schools, but when Vanderbilt came early this fall, I knew that was the one I wanted to go to.”

He also told me what it was like to join such a high quality team. “It is awesome joining such a good team. There is some pressure to make sure I play as well as others, since I’m going to have to earn my spot as a freshman.”

With top picks coming out of Vanderbilt each year, we are so excited to see what Drew can do at Vanderbilt and beyond. Drew will also be playing baseball for Green Level this year.
