Gator Wrestling Falls to Green Hope

JV team getting the match started.

Last Wednesday the Gators battled it out on the mats at Green Hope High School. Leading up to the match the team knew Green Hope would be a challenging matchup, with many of our own players being out. Nevertheless the Gators gave it their all in a tough 21-54 loss. Despite this, the team will put this behind them and focus on their next match. I spoke with senior at GLHS, Conor Perry, who said “it’s never fun losing, but at the end of the day we did our best. Green Hope had a full lineup with lot of experienced guys.”  The team knows that losing is just part of sports, and they are putting emphasis on constantly improving. Senior, Darian King, says “ sometimes you just lose, we know this match was hard and didn’t go the way we wanted. But the good thing is that it only leaves us with more room to improve in our next match. A lot of the new guys on our team have come a long way this season, and it’s good to focus on how much better we have gotten.”

Best of luck to the team in their next match. Senior night wrestling will be on January 26th against Apex Friendship.
