The Gators began the match out very strong coming out with a 6-0 lead over the Apex Friendship Patriots. The match had multiple lead changes and ties throughout the night. The wrestling match was very exciting because about 15 different wrestlers from our school get to compete. Secondly, being able to see how the different weight classes wrestle is a very underrated part of the enjoyment of the game. The Gators led the Patriots by one point with three matches left and the Patriots were able to pull through at the end by winning two of the last three matches to spoil the Gator’s senior night. Conor Perry had a very tough matchup and his game lasted around 10 minutes, he had some positive thoughts on the night: “It was a great atmosphere here tonight, with a lot of people coming out to support us was really cool to see.”

Some of the top wrestlers for the Gators will have a chance to compete at the regional level which is an individual event where around 16 total schools will come together and fight for a chance at States.
