Track and Field at States

C. Nestor, Staff Writer

Last weekend many of the Green Level Track and Field athletes performed at States. The girls 4×4 qualified for Nationals. Along with great achievement from the girl’s team, the track teams as a whole performed as well as they could for an overall good performance. Tensions was high for these athletes as it was the last race before the outdoor season and a chance to qualify for nationals in March.

Kayleen Ahlquist, Alexa Nestor, Alana Daily, Laveyah Hill were all a part of the qualifying 4×4. Alexa Nestor commented on the team’s performance, ¨I thought everyone ran a good leg, I thought everyone ran as hard as they could at the given moment.¨ The distance runners also had some good performances, Campbell Dille ran a very consistent and smooth race in the 4×8. The rest of the distance team followed in their performances.

In addition, Laveyah Hill qualified for the 60m, 200m, and the 4×2. The field athletes also had a great performance with long jump and pole vault.

Great job to everyone who competed at states. Can’t wait to see how the outdoor season will go.
