On Thursday night, the women’s basketball team won the second round of playoffs for the first time in Green Level history. They have had an incredible season so far, going 26-4, dominating other teams in their conference, and making a name for themselves all across the state.

Against the Purnell Swett Rams, the lady Gators showed out, starting strong with the score at the end of the first quarter being 16-4. In the second quarter, the Gators held the Rams to a low scoring quarter, while scoring a few of their own making the score at the end of the first half 29-16, with Gators in the lead. The Rams still didn’t stop fighting and they shortened the lead to only 43 to 35 with the Gators barely still ahead, no longer with a comfortable lead. The fourth quarter was the tightest, and most nerve-wracking out of the entire game. The Rams really wanted the win, but The Gators wanted it more, winning the fourth quarter, and in turn the game, with the final score being 55-53.

The game was extremely hard-fought from both sides, but in the end, the Gators managed to prevail over the Rams.

To hear about his thoughts on this game, and what he plans to improve on before the next game, I interviewed Coach Woolf, coach of the Women’s Basketball Team. Coach Woolf said, “It was a great atmosphere for our players to play in. The gym was jam-packed, standing room only and their team was going nuts for every positive thing that they did. The girls played great in that crazy atmosphere, and we played great team basketball offensively and defensively.”
