Softball Fights Through Adversity, Grabs First Win!
March 21, 2022
Our softball team has acquired their first win this season against Cary High School!
This season hasn’t started off exactly how they wanted, losing their first three games, but hopefully the first win will give them momentum to keep winning. The team was able to capitalize when it came to the in-conference game against Cary.
I was able to talk to Senior Raegan Rudd and get some of her insight into the season so far. When asked about how she thought the season was going so far she said, “So far it’s not really how we thought it was going to start but we’ve learned from it and are continuing to grow and improve in any way we can. We have a good amount of freshman so we’ve been getting to know them and just overall bonding more.” After defeating Cary she said “It was great finally getting our first win as a team and it was even better that it was a conference game. We played really well and as a team and it showed.”
Lastly, I asked Raegan what they needed to do to keep winning and this was her response:
“To keep winning we just need to stick together and communicate. Playing as a unit in softball is super important so if we just continue to become closer and communicate and work together we should succeed.”
This week the softball team will play three games with two of them being home on Thursday and Friday. Make sure to come out and support them and we wish them the best of luck this week!
