Green Level’s Lady Gators lost their conference opening vollyeball games last week, but not without putting up a good fight.

JV-B team got off to a slow start, losing the first set 25-8. After the first set, the Gators returned to the second with a lot of energy and enthusiasm, leading in points throughout the set. However, the Cougars returned and won the second set 25-20.

The JV-A team fought hard against Apex, but also lost, 2-0. The girls played tough in the first set but couldn’t quite get in the right mindset and fell to the Cougars 18-25. The second set the girls came back with lots of energy and had some great digs and blocks but the Cougars struck back with just as much power and defeated the Gators once again 12-25

The Varsity Volleyball team also lost their game 3-1, fighting hard throughout the game and winning the first set, forcing the Cougars to a long game of four sets.

The Varsity Gators started with tons of energy and won a well deserved first set 25-22. The energy the Gators started with was carried throughout and they kept a close score through the next two sets of 25-17 and 25-22. During the last set, the Gators lost 25-9, leaving Green Level with a tough loss.

The JV-B Lady Gators are 1-2 so far on the season, JV-A is 5-2, Varsity is 1-5 and all are looking for a win against Riverside on October 1st starting at 5:00.
