Womens Lacrosse Spoils the Catamounts Senior Night

J. Hill and J. Murray

Green Level women’s lacrosse faced off against the Catamounts at Panther Creek last night. The last time the gators took them on, they unfortunately lost. So leading up to this match there was a good amount of pressure for the Gators to redeem themselves. Despite this the team was confident in their abilities and they were able to play incredibly well.

The Gators crushed Panther Creek in a second half shut out, in an impressive 10-6 win. Going into the second half the teams were tied 6-6, the players treated this like a reset and were able to take the lead. Senior, Katie Hunter, stated that there was a big rivalry between the players of GL and PC as many of the current players on Green Level’s team had left PC after their freshman year. Adding to this rivalry was their previous loss to PC, Katie said that “It felt great to beat them on their senior night”.

We also spoke with Lexi Arbon, a Freshman, who said “after the second half, we were able to restart and we played really well to win the game”. She scored the final goal for the gators, and this sealed the deal finishing off the game in a four point lead. An overall great win for the Gators, and best of luck in their next match, and upcoming senior night.
